Puppy Health Warranty & Conditions of Sale

While Salukis arPuppiese not plagued by many health issues, keeping it that way requires the diligence of all breeders to use only the most temperamentally sound and healthiest of stock to breed from. We don't want anyone to experience the heartbreak of a defective puppy. See Health & Temperament Screening for details. However, even the best laid plans sometimes go astray and we are here, should something go wrong and offer guarantees against certain health conditions along with expectations regarding how our puppies are kept. We want happy buyers and happy, well adjusted puppies. If you decide to purchase a Timaru Saluki, you will be offered the following guarantees and be asked to agree to the following conditions.

Buyer Requirements
1. Salukis need fenced yards and we want our puppies to be safe. Thus, we can only sell our puppies to homes with the understanding that the Buyer has a fenced yard and that the dog will not be allowed to roam at will. The major cause of death for salukis of first time owners is cars. They need a securely fenced yard. Furthermore, if one of our puppies is impounded by animal control on more than two occasions, all warranties and guarantees are null and void and the puppy is at risk for repossession. Furthermore, we cannot in good conscience, sell a saluki puppy where it would live in an apartment, although an adult might work out in such a situation.

Jasper2. Each of our litters is designated by a letter and all the registered names in that litter must begin with that same letter. We work with our buyers to ensure that this policy is followed, although the buyers can freely decide upon the "call name" - the name the puppy is actually called. The breeders reserve the right to select the registered name, which is usually done in cooperation with the Buyers.

3. If this dog is a male, it is agreed that the Breeders reserve the right to use the dog at stud for bitches owned, co-owned or leased by them without incurring a stud fee. However, it the dog is used on outside bitches, it will be by the mutual consent of the Breeders and Buyer and that any stud fees or stud fee puppies collected for use of this dog on outside bitches shall belong to the Buyer.

4.  It is agreed that this dog shall not be resold, in whole or in part, or given to a third party without the prior knowledge and consent of the Breeders, who retain the first right of refusa
